Tech Support, Notes and News Updates

Tech support is available via phone, fax or email.

1. Tech notes are available on the web site with user password.
2. News updates are emailed monthly in a bulletin for users only.
3. FTP access to latest demos, source code, tools, and bug reports.

Product Updates and Bug Fixes

1. Free updates and upgrades to the current version.
2. Discounts on new products.

Prices:

Introductory 4Q Support Program: $525

1. Mandatory for the first year on first purchase only.
2. Includes 5 hours of telephone, fax and e-mail support for one year from date of purchase. Free updates, free upgrades, access to the latest version through FTP and discounts on new products for the first year. (Only one introductory support package can be purchased per product).

Annual 4Q Upgrade Program

1. Access through FTP to latest versions, tech notes and prerelease versions.
2. Subscription to monthly bulletin including bug reports.
3. Discounts on new products.
4. Upgrade program cost is 25% of the cost of the license times the number of years since the last upgrade.
5. Yearly renewals are based on the date of the original license. The cost of the upgrade program requires continuous membership. Lapses in payments do not subsequent costs or membership periods.

Hourly Support

1. Hourly support can be pre-purchased for $460 for each 4-hour block.
2. 10% discount on hourly support when purchased with the Upgrade Program.

Requirements and Qualifications

1. Braided Matrix cannot guarantee success in the debugging of custom aps.
2. Braided Matrix will not provide source code support for custom aps that will not compile.
3. Braided Matrix only warranties 4th Quarter when run using those versions of 4D that we publicly support.

Braided Matrix only supports current versions of the program

1. Beyond your first year you must subscribe to the annual upgrade program to gain continuous access to the current version through the FTP site.

2. If the cost of the accumulated years of updates exceeds the original cost of the software license (including additional source code fee), then new runtime licenses and source code licenses may be purchased.

Braided Matrix prefers to support certified 4Q Developers

1. We suggest that clients who need us to help them with development service work with a certified 4Q developer.
2. Braided Matrix provides sufficient 4D programming support to assure the success of custom projects managed by Certified 4Q Developers. We may not be able to provide sufficient support for projects managed by non-certified developers, or for projects whose design deviates from our coding guidelines.
3. When clients purchase tech support, we require that they assign a maximum of two contact people who will receive support. Our support is useful to developers and administrators of 4th Quarter. We do not provide support for end users.
